Kathryn Dubowski

BORN: May 20, 1986 Attended P.S. 221 North Hills School, Junior High School 67, Louis Pasteur and Townsend Harris High School, currently a senior.
Kathryn has been active in the community from the time she was a student at P.S. 221. She is a two time winner of the Junior Americanism award and was the youngest member to ever be made a full time committee member of the Little Neck/Douglaston Memorial Day Parade Committee, working from 1997 to the present as a full time committee member.
Kathryn has been a volunteer worker at the summer camp at P.S. 221 from 1998 to the present, working every summer with the children at the day camp.
Kathryn has also volunteered her services to the Global Women's Exchange, which is an organization dedicated to assisting women residing in third world countries by providing raw materials and selling finished products produced by these women. The products are sold in various churches and community organizations throughout the United States. Kathryn has participated in this program by assisting in the packaging, shipping and sale of these products.
Kathryn is also secretary of ARCHON, a school based service/honor society. Kathryn has instituted a program where the students from Townsend Harris High School visit the pediatrics unit at New York Hospital Queens, to read to the patients, play games with the patients and in general brighten up the environment for the children. At Christmas time, Kathryn organized the purchase of toys through contributions from the students at Townsend Harris High School and presented the toys to the hospital pediatrics' ward for the use and the benefit of the hospitalized children.
Kathryn is an honor student at Townsend Harris High School who was recently named Scholar Athlete of the week by the cable news station New York-1, which presented a short documentary on her athletic as well as her scholastic performance and granted her a $2,000 scholarship.
